You should wear loose fitting, comfortable exercise clothes and a good pair of running shoes.
What do I need to bring with me to the session?
• A bottle of water
• Yoga mat or towel
• Sunscreen and hat/visor
• A smile!
Who looks after my baby at the Prams sessions?
There are no child carers on site at any of Babes with Babes Sessions, at the Pram Sessions your babe remains your responsibility, at all times.
What happens if my babe cries or gets upset during a Pram session?
No problems! All of our Babes with Babes Trainers are Mum’s so we know and appreciate that babies will cry from time to time. During the sessions we try to keep you and your pram moving to help avoid the babes getting too agitated. And there will be times when you will need to attend to your babe – we just ask that when this happens that you join back in as soon as your babe has settled.
What happens if it is raining or very hot?
Sessions are held rain, hail or shine and we will find a suitable spot undercover or in the shade when necessary. You will be advised prior to the session if the meeting spot has to be changed due to the weather.
What if I miss my normal session, do you offer makeup sessions?
Yes, we offer makeup sessions on any session each week. Makeup sessions are to be completed in the same month that they were missed.
What if I am running late for a session?
If you are just a few minutes late, then you can simply find us and join in the warm up. We try to stay near the meeting point for the warm up of the session. If you will be more than 10 minutes late we ask that you contact your trainer directly for the best advice.
What happens if I begin to feel unwell during a session?
Should you experience any of the symptoms below, during or following a session, please stop exercising and advise your trainer immediately:
• Abnormal fatigue
• Sharp muscle aches and pains
• Dizzyness or faint
• Cramping
• Nausea
Is exercise advised if I have abdominal separation or pelvic floor issues?
Yes. Our Trainers will always offer variations of exercises so that Babes can choose the intensity level that suits them. Your trainer will ensure that you stay away from any abdominal exercises that may make separation worse (e.g. crunches & sit ups).
Babes with Babes Trainers will also work with your GP, Physio or other health professional to ensure any injuries or post partum conditions are managed correctly. Our Trainers are very specific with attention to correct form when exercising, and this will limit any risk of injury.
What age are babies able to attend the Pram sessions?
Our Pram sessions cater for Mums with babes aged from 6 weeks to 12 months. Mum’s must have completed their 6 Week Post Natal Checkup prior to attending their first Babes with Babes session.
Can I attend Babes with Babes session’s if I am currently pregnant?
Yes – as long as you have no pre-existing conditions that prevent you from exercising, or have a history of miscarriages. We’ll make sure you take it nice and easy during our sessions and always recommend our pregnant Babes wear a heart rate monitor to ensure your heart rate is kept below 150bpm. You will be provided with further exercising while pregnant guidelines on registration.
Do you run any classes that provide childcare?
Yes – child care is available for our 9.30am sessions. Child care is provided for our sessions by qualified carers at Little Rascals Play Centre in Brookvale.
